Optimised systems
Complex regulatory and control systems in the vehicle require powerful electronics. The use of data buses in the vehicle makes it possible to establish discrete systems which, on the one hand, allow new vehicle electrical system architectures and, on the other, demand new ECU structures.
Working closely with the customer, KOSTAL can define optimum functional separation and ECU location in the comfort sector. Cross-platform strategies are also taken into account in the drive to achieve rational and cost-effective variants.
Multiple functions
KOSTAL central control units do not merely handle light and power distribution. They also cover regulatory and control functions such as central locking, the operation of lights and wipers, and the monitoring of fluid levels and temperatures.
Flexible structure technology
Mixed-power technology combines the rugged and powerful performance of metal inserts or frets, with the flexibility of thick copper printed circuit boards. This versatile technology, based on insert techniques, makes it possible to achieve simple mechatronic modules which can be expanded to cover varying demands in the field of signal and full power distribution.
Integrated development and test tools
Development cycles are becoming ever shorter. To meet this challenge, KOSTAL use the latest methods in the fields of development, project management, functional tests and manufacturing. A continuous chain of tests, involving white-box, black-box and integration tests, accompanies the development of KOSTAL control units, from the start of the project, ensuring top quality from the initial sample phase, through to the finished product.
International outlook
KOSTAL develop vehicle electrical system controllers and comfort control devices for all the world‘s significant markets. In addition to customers throughout Europe, OEMs in China, Brazil and the USA also enjoy the benefits of KOSTAL know-how.
